You enter the Steam Workshop IDs of your maps and items in the config, and WebFTP leaves you full access to the files for everything else.
Human support, 7 days a week
A team that actually knows Unturned, reachable on Discord and from NexusPanel, seven days a week. No bots, no queue: someone who answers.
Performance and a modern panel
Nos nodes Ryzen 9 7950X3D, DDR5 ECC et NVMe Gen4 offrent la puissance idéale pour un serveur Unturned fluide, sans lag ni chute de tick. And NexusPanel keeps console, WebFTP and backups in one place.
NexusPanel: manage your Unturned server in 1 click
Add RocketMod, Steam Workshop over WebFTP, with full access to your files and no restrictions.
What kind of Unturned server can you host?
Survival PvP
The classic mode: loot, bases and clashes on the official maps (PEI, Washington, Russia).
PvE & co-op
Co-op progression with no wild PvP, focused on farming and building.
Roleplay
RP servers with rules, jobs and an economy.
Modded (RocketMod / OpenMod)
Economy plugins, kits and permissions via RocketMod or OpenMod, plus Workshop maps.
Unturned hosting: everything you need to know
Renting a dedicated Unturned server gives you full control over your game: you choose your rules, your mods and your configuration, and keep your world available around the clock for your whole community. A professionally hosted server avoids the limits of a locally hosted game, where progress stops the moment the host disconnects.
At Nexus Games, your Unturned server runs on Ryzen 9 7950X3D machines with DDR5 ECC and NVMe Gen4, for a smooth experience with no lag and no tick drops. You install mods and plugins in one click from NexusPanel, and benefit from automatic backups, instant delivery and human support 7 days a week. All from 5,99€ a month, permanently protected by Anti-DDoS.
What you can do with your Unturned server
Frequently asked questions · Unturned server
Enter the Steam Workshop IDs of your maps and items in the server config; the content downloads and loads automatically at startup.
Yes, but choose knowingly. RocketMod is the historical framework with the largest plugin catalogue, and it is legacy today : it has had no real maintenance since 2019, so newer game updates can break its plugins. OpenMod is its actively maintained successor and the sensible default for a new server, with a modern plugin system and its own growing catalogue. Both install through WebFTP and give you economy, kits, permissions and teleportation; migrate to OpenMod unless a specific RocketMod plugin is essential to your server.
The official maps (PEI, Washington, Yukon, Russia), the curated maps that ship with the game (Elver, Buak, Arid, Kuwait, Greece, Hawaii, Escalation and others) and any Steam Workshop map you add by its ID. Curated maps need no extra download for your players, while a Workshop map is fetched automatically on connection. The map is set in Commands.dat and applied on restart.
Yes. PvE, PvP and hardcore modes and the server rules are set in Config.json and Commands.dat from the panel.
Two files do most of the work. Commands.dat holds the server commands: name, map, max players, password, mode (Easy, Normal, Hard) and whether PvP or PvE is active. Config.json controls the deeper gameplay tuning : loot, zombie behaviour, vehicles, decay and rates. Both are editable through WebFTP or the panel's file editor, and changes apply on the next restart. Keep a backup before large edits: a malformed Config.json prevents the server from starting.
Unturned is free to play, and free hosting offers do exist : but they come with limited slots, RAM shared between many customers, no Anti-DDoS, frequent downtime and often automatic suspension after a few days of inactivity. For a public server with plugins and a Workshop modlist, that quickly becomes unusable. A paid plan gives you dedicated resources, Anti-DDoS included, schedulable automatic backups and 7-day support; ours starts at $6.92/month with no commitment. Hosting on your own PC is the other free route, but it ties your server to your machine being on and your home upload speed.
The in-game list is filtered and slow to refresh, so a brand-new server often just isn't visible yet. Connect directly instead: in the Play menu, use Connect and enter your server's IP and port to verify it is genuinely running. Check the live console for startup errors, a bad Config.json or a failed Workshop download can stop the server before it registers. If the direct connection works, the server is fine and it is a listing problem: make sure the query ports are reachable and give the master list a little time to pick it up.
Our plans start at 4 slots and scale up to unlimited; the Ryzen 9 7950X3D handles mod- and player-heavy servers without lag.
Yes. Unturned is free to play on Steam. Renting a dedicated hosting server is separate and paid: it gives you a high-performance, protected server online 24/7, independent of your own PC.
Nexus Games is rated one of the best Unturned hosts thanks to AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processors, DDR5 ECC memory and Gen4 NVMe storage, with Anti-DDoS included, RocketMod/OpenMod support and support 7 days a week.
At Nexus Games an Unturned server starts at $6.92/month. Pricing scales with the slots you choose, from 4 players up to unlimited, up to $52.29/month for the largest configuration : you only pay for the slots you need, with CPU, RAM and bandwidth included and Anti-DDoS standard.
For smooth performance even with many RocketMod plugins, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D with its 5.7 GHz clock and 128 MB 3D V-Cache (used on every Nexus Games Unturned server) keeps things responsive.
Your Unturned server is hosted in US East, on our Ryzen 9 7950X3D infrastructure with a 1 Gbit/s network and permanent Anti-DDoS protection. That proximity keeps latency low and stable for your players.
Yes. Download the files from your current server (world, configs, mods) and upload them through NexusPanel's WebFTP: you keep your progress, your settings and your add-ons. Our support team can guide you on Discord if needed.
Automatic backups are schedulable from NexusPanel (daily by default, adjustable frequency) and restorable in one click. You can also trigger a manual backup before an update or a mod installation.
