Nexus Games (NEXUS GAMES) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. This policy describes the data we collect, how it is used and how you stay in control of it, in accordance with the GDPR and the recommendations of the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
1. Data collected
When you use the site and the services, Nexus Games collects:
- Your account and order details: first name, last name, email address and billing information.
- Your IP address and internet service provider, for the security of the site and the services.
- Browsing data: pages viewed, visit duration, device and browser type. Without your consent, this data is collected without cookies and cannot be used to recognise you from one visit to the next.
- If you consent, where your visit came from: the page you arrived on, the referring site or search, campaign parameters (utm) and, if you clicked one of our ads, the identifier of that click (gclid, gbraid, wbraid or msclkid).
- If you consent, your journey: the list of pages you viewed before ordering, with the time each one was viewed.
2. Purposes of processing
This information is used to:
- provide the services you order, and manage your account, orders and billing;
- keep the site and the services secure;
- measure site traffic in order to improve the site;
- understand what makes us known: which ad, search or pages led to an order, and measure how effective our ads are;
- show you relevant advertising.
3. Legal basis and compliance
Processing of your account and order data is based on the performance of the contract between us. Traffic measurement, source measurement, journey tracking and advertising are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Processing is carried out in accordance with the French Data Protection Act (loi « informatique et libertés ») of 6 January 1978 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 27 April 2016. Nexus Games is registered with the CNIL under number DPO-102440.
4. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase the data concerning you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You can exercise these rights by writing to [email protected], or update your details directly from your client area. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
5. Recipients of the data
Nexus Games will never sell its users' personal data. It is only accessible to the service providers that help us run the site, and only for the purposes of their task:
- OVH Groupe SAS, our hosting provider, to run the site;
- Cloudflare, to deliver and protect the site, and for cookieless traffic statistics;
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics and Ads), for traffic measurement and to measure how effective our ads are;
- Microsoft (Clarity), to analyse how pages are used;
- Trustpilot, to display customer reviews.
If you arrived through one of our ads, the identifier of that click is attached to your order and may be sent to the advertising platform concerned (Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising), solely to measure how effective the ad was. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union; such transfers are covered by the safeguards provided for by the GDPR. Finally, judicial authorities may, in the course of an investigation, request access to this data.
6. Cookies and trackers
No non-essential cookie is set without your consent. On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline everything, just as easily either way. You can change your choice at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page.
- Essential cookies: they remember your choice (ng_consent, fs-cookie-consent, fs-consent-ads, fs-consent-parcours) for 6 months. They do not require your consent.
- Traffic measurement and advertising: Google Analytics, Google Ads and Microsoft Clarity. Until you consent, they set no cookies and cannot recognise you from one visit to the next.
- Source: the og-origine cookie remembers the page you arrived on, the referring site or search, and your last click on one of our ads. It is shared with our ordering area (billing.nexus-games.com), which needs it to attach that source to your order.
- Journey: the list of pages you viewed before ordering stays in your browser (local storage, og-parcours). It only leaves your device when you click to order, and is then attached to your order.
7. Retention periods
- Your consent choice: 6 months, after which the banner is shown to you again.
- Source and journey in your browser: 6 months at most. The journey is forgotten after each order.
- Source and journey sent with an order: kept with that order, under the same conditions as your order data.
- If you withdraw your consent, the source cookie and the journey are immediately erased from your browser.
