The GTA V lesson for GTA 6

The history of GTA V roleplay is the only example from which anything about GTA 6 can be inferred. It is remarkably clear and remarkably slow.
Console before PC
GTA V shipped on console in 2013 and on PC in 2015. Before the PC version, roleplay was not on the table at all.
The framework came from the community
The roleplay framework was not a publisher project. Its arrival therefore depended on no official schedule.
Maturity took years
From the first attempts to a widely used framework, years passed. The large RP servers only came afterwards.
Popularity arrived last
The biggest wave of roleplay began years after the game shipped. It is the most frequently forgotten part of the history.
What that predicts
If the same pattern repeats, GTA 6 community servers are a matter of years rather than months.
What could go faster
The community now has experience and ready-made patterns. That may shorten the wait but does not remove the PC-version condition.
What could go slower
The new game may be technically harder to extend. Nobody will know before the PC version.
The first servers were not the best
Early GTA V roleplay servers were unstable and unfinished. The ones that lasted were not the first but the ones that kept fixing things.
Much of the work was voluntary
Behind the framework and the first resources were volunteers. The schedule therefore depended on neither money nor promises.
What history does not predict
The exact date. Every date circulating today is a derived guess rather than information.
Experience carries over
Whoever runs a good FiveM server today will be in the best position when the new game arrives. It is the one preparation that certainly pays.
Most of what precedes is a matter of organisation rather than technique: the decisions are made before you start, the backups have to actually run, and the rules are written while nothing has gone wrong yet. Our GTA 6 server hosting takes on the part there is no reason to do by hand — automatic backups and instant setup, along with a panel where settings, files, mods and restarts are handled without ever opening a command line.
